We've located the diary of Elizabeth Cork. In the days when she was at MUSC, there was a 1:1 ratio of nurses to patients, so she and her colleagues recorded a great deal of their observations.

@Michael S. Casias: Maybe we should pitch "The Last Emporer" Honey Bunches of Henry O's to celebrate the 80's.

@Jennifer Welch: I'll see what I can find out from my family regarding a diary. As far as I know, Grandma's mother was "Mary Elizabeth Cork Snyder".

Hi Ben,
I am sorry for the recent loss of your grandmother Lula Coleman.
I am an archivist at the Waring Historical Library in Charleston, SC, and I came across your site through searching for Elizabeth Cork Snyder (she is mentioned as being Lula Coleman's mother in her obituary), who I believe is your great-grandmother. Ms. Snyder's diary is referenced in a book on the College of Nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina, and I have a researcher (a professor at USC in Columbia) who is trying to locate the diary. Do you know if Ms. Snyder's diary or other personal papers are housed in an archives where they might be accessible for this researcher?
I realize this may seem like an odd request, and I apologize if I am looking for a different Elizabeth Cork Snyder than your great-grandmother. If you have any information to share, it would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Welch

High incidence of thrashers yesterday. A couple of Carolina Wrens. DeLo states this is around the time of year when Cardinals, Chickadees and Titmice start to form a single flock.

Indeed-- this box of cereal must have been at least a quarter old. Aside from the big yellow "NEW" label and the rather sad aesthetic of the actual cereal, the branding is great. As you reach for the box, you have to be careful not to get whipped in the face!

It's too bad the "Indy Burger" exited the market so gracefully... I think Burger King should have just renamed its whole franchise "Burgerana Jones and the Temple of Bacon".

Awesome! Seeing the Indy cereal box made me think of a new saying, "Nuke the Fridge". Which, as I understand it, is being taken to mean a product or company has over stayed its welcome. I guess something had to replace the Happy Days "Jump the Shark".

I"m still an Indy fan!
